CarePlus New Jersey is a northern New Jersey provider of recovery-focused mental health, substance abuse, and family services that address the unique needs of individuals with a holistic approach to recovery and overall wellness.

Operating out of 23 sites – including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices – our services are convenient to clients located throughout Northern New Jersey. We also provide educational programs on mental health-related topics to area schools and community groups.

Provides administrative and clerical support to management, staff and clients, as required and directed; answers phones, complies data into various Agency computer systems and prepares reports, as directed; prepares, processes and/or assists with billing (as may be assigned). Schedules and assists prescribers and clientele. Assures departmental goals and/or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame by performing the job responsibilities personally.

  • Performs switchboard duties as required by forwarding calls to the appropriate staff/department, answering questions about Agency, provides directions to Agency, etc.; Performs monthly safety checklist inspections and enters safety checklist information into the computerized clinical system, as directed; Retrieves and routes faxes daily; Monitors and maintains calendar; Schedules appointments and meetings; Assists with daily and long-range correspondence projects
  • Assures there is an adequate supply of forms and orders and maintains office supplies, as needed
  • Operates office equipment, including telephone, computer, printer and fax/copier and assures office equipment is working properly or contacts and arranges for necessary repair personnel to fix the problem
  • Accurately takes calls/messages and forwards to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Processes emergency calls immediately


  • High School diploma
  • Preferred: Graduate from a recognized Secretarial School, College Degree, Business School Education
  • The ability to read, analyzes, and interprets data, documents, professional journals, business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions/procedures
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and have the ability to communicate the outcome

  • Trains new staff on computerized clinical/medical records system, billing entry and general office procedures, as directed

  • Serves as an important contact to clients when staff is deployed or unavailable

  • Engages in department/program related performance improvement processes and activities

  • Possess a valid driver’s license, and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy
