CarePlus New Jersey is a northern New Jersey provider of recovery-focused mental health, substance abuse, and family services that address the unique needs of individuals with a holistic approach to recovery and overall wellness.

Operating out of 23 sites – including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices – our services are convenient to clients located throughout Northern New Jersey. We also provide educational programs on mental health-related topics to area schools and community groups.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This non-clinical position will provide supportive counseling, group facilitation, and CRAFT skills training to families of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) individuals in their communities in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren Counties. Other essential competencies include the ability to provide support to parents; build hope and provide a sense of optimism; teach positive communication skills; be able to engage in role-plays with parents to rehearse positive communication skills; conduct supportive or psychoeducation groups; develop wellness plans; share stories of hope and recovery; connect family members to each other; and advocate for inclusion of family members’ health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma (or Equivalency)
  • Personal experience with a loved one with an Opiod Use Disorder (OUD)
  • Skilled in active listening, expressing empathy, nonjudgmental response, self-awareness, problem solving, ethical conduct and other crucial social service skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy.
