CarePlus New Jersey is a northern New Jersey provider of recovery-focused mental health, substance abuse, and family services that address the unique needs of individuals with a holistic approach to recovery and overall wellness.

Operating out of 23 sites – including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices – our services are convenient to clients located throughout Northern New Jersey. Acts as an Intensive Case Manager to adults receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), as well as General Assistance (GA) benefits under the Welfare program. Primary focus is to help these individuals close their welfare cases by reaching self sufficiency. Maintain a caseload as assigned by the Program Manager and will develop individualized service plans, which are consistent with WFNJ regulations and leads to employment. Duties will include at a minimum: job development (including job leads, resume/interview preparation), client advocacy, referral, follow-up and support, case management and service coordination, linkages to community resources, mental health care services and/or alternative benefit programs, group facilitation, mentoring development of case plans and long-term career goals, along with leveraging of State and County services.


  • BA degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field 
  • Spanish Speaking is Preferred
  • Experience in working with welfare recipients, domestic violence, family therapy, job development, crisis intervention, counseling, mental health, and substance abuse. 
  • Must demonstrate good organizational, communication, negotiating, and problem solving skills. 
  • Must be accessible to clients and a team player.
  • Requires use of own vehicle.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy. 
  • Preferred: 2 years experience working with hard to serve economically disabled adults.
